Project Overview
“Keep It Up!” is a glove heart rate monitor that will notify the user to speed up or slow down to reach the target heart rate when working out. “Keep It Up!” will be unique to each user. The user will have to wear the glove and wait for the resting heart rate to be inputted in. If the user’s heart rate exceeds the target heart rate, the “Keep It Up!” will alert the user by flashing its lights. Wrist bands that monitor your heart rate and other similar devices are very popular today as they are mainly used for exercise. One of those popular wrist devices, called the FitBit ©, is able to keep track of the intake of calories, the number of steps taken, track your goals, etc. The user will be prompted for their age and how intense they want their workout to be so that the monitor can decide what the target heart rate is. The device has to count the pulse to calculate the heart rate so it can keep track of the heart rate and to see if it is going above or below the user’s target heart rate.
